Doncaster Hockey Club teams up with UCDon’s HPC

Posted: 30 September 2025

University Campus Doncaster’s High Performance Centre (HPC) is celebrating an exciting new partnership with Doncaster Hockey Club (DHC), bringing world-class sports science and recovery support to players across the club.

Thanks to the agreement, DHC’s performance squads will benefit from top-level testing and recovery services,  from VO₂ max and strength profiling to injury screening, massage, and cryotherapy. Players will also enjoy expert guidance on nutrition, sleep, and wellbeing, helping them stay fit, healthy, and ready to perform.

The HPC will also proudly sponsor Doncaster Hockey Club’s Men’s First Team, marking the start of what both organisations hope will be a long and successful partnership.

Josh Wroot, Head of the High Performance Centre, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Doncaster Hockey Club to the HPC family. This partnership is about helping local players reach their potential with the same support professional athletes receive. It’s a fantastic step forward for sport in our town. At the HPC, we’ve invested in the very latest sports science and recovery technology so that Doncaster’s athletes don’t have to travel to bigger cities to access elite-level support. To be able to share this with one of the region’s most successful community clubs is something we’re really proud of. What also excites us is the long-term potential. This partnership is about more than just the Men’s First Team, it’s about creating a pathway for all players, from juniors through to senior squads, to develop, stay healthy, and perform at their very best. It’s also another step towards building Doncaster’s reputation as a hub for sporting excellence.”

DHC Chairman Spencer Fearn added: “We are thrilled to be working with the HPC. This partnership gives our players access to resources that will make a huge difference in their development and recovery, and it underlines our commitment to raising standards within the club. For the first season, there will be a focus on the performance squads, with every intention to extend this offering to all players in the future. We are also delighted to have the HPC as our Men’s First Team sponsor — it’s a fantastic fit for both organisations.”

The partnership highlights a shared commitment to raising sporting standards across Doncaster, with the HPC already supporting clubs including Doncaster Rovers, Doncaster Knights, and Doncaster Dons.
