What is your story?
I started studying music at Doncaster College in 2014 after two unenjoyable years at sixth form. Having taken an interest in music, Doncaster College was the most logical choice for me. After really enjoying my time at High Melton college; I made the decision to apply for the Creative Music Technology degree course at Doncaster University Centre. I made this decision to further my skills and give me a higher chance of succeeding in my chosen industry. My degree course provided me a varied of opportunities, from working in professional recording studios to work experience at music festivals. Onto my final and sixth year at Doncaster College and University Centre now! Having been persuaded by one of my uni tutors, Michael Dunn, that it would be a good idea to study for my PGCE. I decided to do that, completing my work placement where I studied my college course! Always grateful to Shelley Forster for her support during my PGCE year during covid.
What are you up to now?
I have been working for DNColleges Group for the past three years, firstly as a Pastoral Coach and now as a Wellbeing Facilitator. My key achievements have been completing my studies and being able to use my knowledge and skills developed at college/university level to further my music career, playing at festivals like Tramlines and well-known venues such as o2 Academy Sheffield.
Sum up your experience studying at Doncaster College or University Campus Doncaster.
Enjoyable. Provided me with invaluable learning.
