English Literature and Digital Culture

If you are intrigued by English literature and language our programmes aim to provide a coherent and integrated course of study that will teach core skills in analysing both.

Giving you the creative understanding of literature and language, uncovering the role of literature from the late Medieval period to current digital age, each course examines the effects of new media technologies on literary form and content and the importance of literature in shaping the contemporary digital landscape.

You will develop knowledge of the conventions and techniques of the principal literary genres and the forms of different types of writing and verbal communication.

Studying literature develops critical and creative faculties of communication and reasoning that enable full participation in social, cultural, and working life, enhancing soft skills in communication, collaboration and critical thinking that are now some of the most sought-after by employers.
