HND Engineering (General) Conversion

For students wishing to continue studying after completing the HNC Engineering (General Engineering) this course has been designed to offer you a level of academic study with a range of units that will stretch your skills and knowledge in preparation for a career as an Engineer.

Given the anticipated developments in Industry 4.0 technologies, this will place the students in a promising position with which to seek employment or to progress further within their studies or current employment.

– Research Project (30 credits)
– Advanced Mechanical Principles (15 credits)
– Further Mathematics (15 credits)
– Virtual Engineering (15 credits)
– Professional Engineering Management (Pearson-set) (15 credits)
– Lean Manufacturing (15 credits)
– Further Electrical, Electronic and Digital Principles (15 credits)

Full-time: Two days a week over one year

A variety of forms of coursework assessment are employed on the programme. These include written descriptive and numerical assignments, short tests, laboratory and workshop appraisals, personal projects, group work, self- and peer-assessment, portfolio preparation and case studies.

You will be required to have achieved the BTEC Higher National Certificate RQF.

The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma allows students to specialise by committing to specific career paths and progression routes to degree-level study.

Financial Support

UK students can take out a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of their course and a maintenance loan to cover living costs.

If your course includes a work placement, you may be required to pay for a Basic or Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
