HND Engineering (Mechanical) Conversion

For students wishing to continue studying after completing the HNC Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) this course has been designed to offer you a level of academic study with a range of units that will stretch your skills and knowledge in preparation for a career as an Engineer.

On completion of the programme students will be well placed in making links to their Mechanical, Manufacturing, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics knowledge and skills.

The primary way of delivering this course is on campus.

On campus teaching includes a combination of lectures, small group seminars, workshops, guest lectures and one to one discussions with your tutor.

A variety of forms of coursework assessment are employed on the programme. These include written descriptive and numerical assignments, short tests, laboratory and workshop appraisals, personal projects, group work, self- and peer-assessment, portfolio preparation and case studies.

Students studying part-time will receive 7 hours of teaching per week throughout this course full-time students 14 hours of teaching. Additional one-to-one meetings with tutors will provide further support.

Successful completion of HNC Mechanical Engineering.

The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma allows students to specialise by committing to specific career paths and progression routes to degree-level study.
